” One of the most beautiful and accomplished people of the year.” – People Magazine
The Ahn Trio - a groundbreaking group of gorgeous sisters globally redrawing the lines between classical and popular music – will perform at a benefit concert in Chicago! The Juilliard-trained Ahn Trio sisters Lucia, Angella and Maria have worked with the world’s top and upcoming dancers, pop singers, DJs, painters, installation artists, photographers, lighting designers, ecologists and even kite makers. Most recently they performed live at the Czech Grammys with the pop band Tata Bojs, and received critical acclaim for their collaborative project with the David Parsons Dance Company. Together with SonyBMG, the Trio is releasing its latest CD, “Lullaby for My Favorite Insomniac” recorded by their own label (L.A.M.P), their boldest and farthest-reaching project to date.
“This is not only a chance to see the world-renown Ahn Trio perform their unique fusion of musical styles live, but also an opportunity to contribute to the important work we are doing for the Korean-American community in Chicago,” says Professor Kyu Park who is also President of the KACS Board of Directors. “The Ahn Trio’s dissolving of barriers between art forms runs parallel to KACS’ efforts to dissolve social, economic and cultural barriers for Korean-Americans.”
Founded in 1972, KACS’ mission is to celebrate Korean American culture and empower all members of the community through its services. Currently in its 36th year of operation, KACS has emerged to become the largest, most comprehensive social service provider in metropolitan Chicago dedicated to meeting the needs of Korean Americans. Each year, more than 8,000 individuals and their families benefit from one or more of KACS’ services.
